Zuckerman Spaeder LLP is pleased to announce that, as of January 1, 2025, Caroline Judge Mehta will become chair of the firm’s Executive Committee and Partnership Board and managing partner of the firm. Ms. Mehta is a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a nationally recognized white collar defense and investigations practitioner.

For the past year, Ms. Mehta has served as co-chair alongside partner Dwight P. Bostwick, who served as chair from 2016 to 2023. As Ms. Mehta assumes the role of sole chair of the firm, Mr. Bostwick will continue as a member of the management team and will maintain his focus on an active practice in complex civil litigation and white collar criminal work.

“It is a particular honor to step into this role as Zuckerman Spaeder approaches the 50th anniversary of the firm’s founding,” said Ms. Mehta. “Our longevity and remarkable success are a direct reflection of an exceptionally talented group of team-focused, collegial attorneys who share an enduring commitment to our clients’ interests. In the years ahead, we’ll build on the firm’s strong foundation and endeavor to uphold the legacy of excellence and commitment to our clients and to each other, modeled by the firm’s founders. We will continue to deliver the high-quality work that has defined us while preparing and empowering the next generation of attorneys to effectively lead the firm through the next five decades.”

Ms. Mehta joined the firm nearly twenty-five years ago as an associate and has since developed a widely respected practice – both internally and externally – representing businesses and individuals in administrative, regulatory, and criminal investigations. After rejoining the firm, following several years as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary at a global technology company, Ms. Mehta has assumed an important leadership role in a significant U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)-appointed monitorship, while remaining active in an array of other white collar and investigations matters.

William W. Taylor, III, one of the firm’s founding partners, remarked, “Caroline developed her impressive career at Zuckerman Spaeder, not only by embracing our special culture but helping to shape it. I have had the privilege to witness her growth from junior associate to an exceptionally accomplished litigator and leader. Over the past few decades, we’ve worked together on a number of significant matters. She possesses unwavering dedication to both our clients and colleagues, which has engendered deep respect, trust, and admiration from members of the firm and beyond. Her experience as in-house counsel further enriches her perspective. There is no better choice in a leader to carry forward our legacy.”
